Randy Moore (In Memoriam)

Co-Founder

We honor James “Randy” Moore—a man whose life and legacy was deeply impacted by his environment and community. Randy passed away in December 2024, but his legacy continues to touch lives, inspire progress, and reflect the kind of leadership that leaves lasting impressions. Randy’s parents moved to New Roads from Texas via Lafayette when he was a young boy. The Moore family fell in love with New Roads’ small-town charm, quickly realizing Pointe Coupee was a special place to raise their family and base their oil and gas services company, Reliable Production Services located in Livonia.

Across a 45-year career, Randy helped shape our local economy, employing hundreds of Pointe Coupee residents through the businesses he either owned and/or managed. His work wasn’t just about business, it was about people, relationships, opportunities, and building a better future for generations to follow. His most appealing characteristic was the value he put on people – he realized the people of Pointe Coupee Parish were unique and he placed significant worth on our parish’s human capital. If he were here today, he would say that his success is owed to his employees, friends, and family – Randy surrounded himself with people from all walks of life and saw goodness in everyone he encountered.

In 2009, alongside George Guerin and his father, Jim Moore, he co-founded Delta Land Services in Port Allen. Delta became another local success, employing over 20 Pointe Coupee residents throughout its course of business. Randy also held partnership interest in oil and gas ventures throughout the Gulf Coast, always with a vision for responsible growth and community advancement.

Randy ‘s vision for growth and community improvement lead to several philanthropic endeavors throughout his life. He gave with intention and heart, supporting organizations close to him and to those he loved. During the COVID pandemic, he played a vital role in keeping the False River Golf and Country Club alive and thriving. He remained a lifelong supporter of Catholic of Pointe Coupee, where his children and grandchildren have grown in knowledge and faith. An avid lover of sports, he backed Hornet athletics with a passion that never wavered—because if his family cared about it, Randy cared deeply, too.

His contributions extended far and wide: from the arts and faith communities to medical research, education, and public service. Among the many causes he supported were the Centre for the Arts, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Mary’s, and St. Augustine; Wine Down on False River; MD Anderson Cancer Center; the Foundation for Woman’s; the Janell Lacombe Cancer Fund; Livonia High School; and the Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s Department.

But above all, Randy Moore was a husband, a father of four, a grandfather of nine, and a proud resident of New Roads. His spirit lives on through his children and grandchildren, and through every life he touched—quietly, generously, and always with heart.

He wasn’t just a businessman. He was a cornerstone of our parish. A mentor. A friend. And a man whose legacy will continue to guide and inspire us for generations to come.
