Jim joined Delta in early 2022 to lead and manage our Climate Mitigation Program, a newly developed program established to provide carbon offset solutions to companies and individuals seeking environmental sustainability. Jim came from The Nature Conservancy (TNC), where he dedicated 30 years of his professional career. He held several leadership positions in TNC’s Texas and Louisiana offices, including Director of Science and Stewardship, Director of Land and Water Protection Strategies, and Director of Freshwater and Wetland Conservation. Prior to TNC, Jim served a stint as the South Florida Waterfowl Program Leader for the Florida Game and Freshwater Fish Commission. He has built an outstanding reputation and has worked with numerous landowners on conservation projects, directed freshwater and coastal habitat projects, facilitated real estate transactions to establish nature preserves, and led several nature-based carbon sequestration projects in the Lower Mississippi Valley. Jim holds a B.S. in Forestry from Purdue University, an M.S. in Wildlife Science from Texas Tech University, and a Ph.D. in Wildlife Ecology from Texas Tech University. Jim and his wife, Danya, have 6 children and enjoy traveling, hunting, and fishing throughout Louisiana—the Sportsman’s Paradise.
